The Art of Lockie Roark

Abstract watercolor paintings inspired by the beauty of Southwest Virginia, vacations to the beach, or even a dream. If you see something that you like, even if already sold, reach out and I can create a new original for you.

About Lockie

While I always enjoyed drawing and painting when younger, it wasn’t until high school where I truly began to appreciate the process.

I had the most wonderful art teacher, Mr. Farris, who taught me to not be worried about being perfect in what I create. To just enjoy the creation process and put down on paper how I feel. I can still hear his advice in every painting I work on.

Most of the pieces are watercolor and some acrylic. I love the simplicity of watercolor and how it looks on paper.  The style I use is abstract (so it’s not so perfect; thanks Mr. Farris).

I hope when you look at my paintings that you see a little bit of me in each one. A little messy, and not so perfect.

The majority of the pieces in the gallery have been sold, however; I would gladly replicate it for you. If you have an idea (or photograph) for a painting, I also am available to work on commission.
